The ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® men’s and women’s basketball teams are set to compete at the annual Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament. The tournament features nine teams from across Canada and runs from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, September 28.

Mark your calendars for the 35th annual Open House at the Atlantic Veterinary College on Saturday, September 27, from 10 am to 2 pm and explore the captivating world of veterinary medicine. 

Dr. Joseph Gordon, Biomedical Sciences with AVC and the Memorial Regional Medical Program at ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®, has received national recognition for his innovative use of research and groundbreaking work investigating muscle remodeling in obesity and type 2 diabetes.

¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® students came together with ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Campus Life, ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Student Union, and the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SV-PRO) on September 16 to paint stones with messages of respect, consent, compassion, and care. 

A new running club has launched at the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®, led by education student and ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Cross Country standout Jack Roberts. The Panther Run Club is open to everyone on campus—students, athletes, staff, faculty, and alumni—and participants are encouraged to bring a friend.

In September 2025, ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® released an updated version of the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Review (¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Review).

Dr. Yoko Nakamae, a large animal surgery resident at the AVC, will present her research at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Surgery Summit, the premier surgical conference for veterinary professionals worldwide.

Every week, ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for September 8–15 are Rowan Gallagher (women’s rugby) and Isaac Sommerville (men’s soccer).

To recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Week, the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SV-PRO), the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Student Union, and Robertson Library have organized a series of events on the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® campus.

The ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® field hockey, rugby, and cross country teams are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away.
