¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Stories LLC
Are you curious why ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® is so beautiful? In the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Stories LLC, we will take a journey through deep time, telling the geologic story of how ¾«Í¯ÓûŮ’s spectacular landscape came to be. ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Stories is led by two geology faculty members who both grew up in ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®. Together, we’ll explore the state’s geology through both classroom study and fun trips to iconic ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® places and some of its hidden gems. The goal: to deepen your satisfaction and sense of place at ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® by exploring how Earth processes have influenced the state’s human history and how they continue to shape our collective present and future.

Program Details
- °Õ²¹°ì±ðÌýGEOL 1040: Geology of ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® in the fall semester
- Participate in events and fieldtripsÌýdesigned for you to experience ¾«Í¯ÓûŮ’s beauty, learn about its human and more-than-human history, and examine the processes that continue to shape it, from plate tectonics to weathering and erosion to climate change
- Connect withÌý¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® faculty membersÌýwho will share their love of ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® and can offer tips on how to successfully navigate the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® experience
- Engage in social activities with a ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® theme, from pizza parties with faculty and student colleagues to tours of cutting-edge ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® research labs
