Joanne Reid graduated in December 2017Ìýwith a master's degree in Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICTD).

Reid took up biathlon in 2015 after earning her undergraduate degree in applied mathematics ('13) from ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Boulder.Ìý In January 2018, ReidÌýwas one of five female biathletes named to Team USA for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. Previously, ReidÌýskied for the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Buffalo ski team and was the 2013 NCAA freestyle champion in cross-country skiing. ReidÌýis the daughter of 1980 Olympic speed skating bronze medalist Beth (Heiden) ReidÌýand the niece of Eric Heiden, a five-time Olympic gold medalist in speed skating.
